EXALT Motorsports is extremely honored to announce the new partnership with UNITRONIC Chipped. We thought long and hard about which software tuner to align our company with and feel Unitronic is the best fit for Exalt, with their tunes for VW, Audi, Porsche and Volvo.

Unitronic entered the automotive world by providing local garages and dealers with solutions for complicated electronic issues. In 2003, with the experience and knowledge gained by dissecting engine management systems for many years, Unitronic began to focus solely on the research and development of high performance software. Aware of the current problems in the industry, we not only chose to rectify the issues people were having with market's current offerings, but to bring it to the next level. Our constant development of new methods and technologies enables us to remain the leader in the industry. But we all agree that without our client's feedback we would not have been where we are. Thank you all for contributing to the creation of these amazing products, and for believing in Unitronic's dedication in offering only the best and most progressive software in the world.

This client brought in his '06 S4 a couple months ago to see what EXALT is all about and has since made some nice improvements to the car with our help. The B7 S4 is a great car right out of the box; good power, sexy rumble and a nice ride but there's still considerable room for improvement. In this regard, we worked closely with the client to determine his performance goals to collaboratively develop a mod list that we have since been steadily chipping away at.

Here's what the car looked like when Brandon first brought it in (sans the exalt stickers) - gorgeous black paint, adorned with all the carbon fiber trimmings from Vorsteiner and riding on a set of BB5 LM replicas.

First mod was to move him into a set of 19lb OZ Ultralegerras wheels. Brandon wanted his wheels to be unique, so he requested a custom "Time Attack" red stripe to the outer lip. Fortunately, we work with one of the top pin-stripers anywhere, so this was a simple task and turned out beautiful. The stripe proved to be a nice detail and really brought together the red & black theme on the car. OZ has one of the best pedigrees in the business, being a wheel provider to Formula 1 and many of the other top echelon racing leagues. Wheels are often viewed as purely a cosmetic modification but by reducing unsprung weight; acceleration, braking, ride quality and gas mileage all improve.

A shot with the new wheels installed

Brandon was looking for a lower ride height with better handling characteristics, so the next mod we embarked on was installation of a set of STaSIS Motorsport Coilovers, featuring Ohlins dampers with outboard reservoirs. This is the premier suspension system for this car and provides the best of all worlds; better than stock ride quality with unparalleled performance.

The installation requires a slight modification to the fire wall of the vehicle to mount the reservoirs. Here, Derek handles the task with ease.

One look at the build quality of this suspension system and there's no doubt this is some serious equipment!

Brandon already had a set of LaBree down-pipes when we met but they were mated up to the stock exhaust. so the next step was to complete the exhaust system with a STaSIS Signature Series cat-back exhaust. Here's a before pic with the stock system still installed.

And here's the STaSIS system

The exhaust note is pure sex with a perfect blend of agresive and sporty sounds... a deep rumble that has been know to send shivers down the spine. There was a nice performance gain with this setup as well.

Next up, we're going to beef up the braking system with a set of STaSIS Motorsport brakes by Alcon. Stay tuned!

Last night, TwentyValveB5+S4 (Tim) from AudiWorld organized an Audi Get Together at Oggi's Pizza in Mission Valley. It was a nice turnout; cool peeps, nice autos and some darn tasty 'za 'n suds (as Neil would say). Lookin' forward to doing this one again...

The EXALT crew went to a very cool all Audi meet at the Irvine Spectrum, organized by tinaalia via various Audi forums. The day started with a very refreshing surf at Scripps, then we met up with the San Diego Caravan in Carlsbad and headed up to Irvine. The temps were up there but it was a very nice showing of Audi enthusiasts and it's being reported that this was the largest gathering of RSs in over 4 years. Pretty cool...

The Knights headed down to Seaport Village in Downtown San Diego to catch the Finals for the Red Bull Air Show. I missed last year's event, so this was the first time seeing this type of racing in person and I gotta say, it was much cooler than I expected. The skill of these pilots was unreal, the way they sliced through the pylons at blistering speeds. Unfortunately, my 17-55 lens wasn't nearly long enough to catch any good action shots, so in-between pushing the stroller and carrying lil' man on my shoulders, I managed to snap a couple around downtown.

The EXALT Crew, along with a few good friends headed out to the local mountains for a day of pushing our autos through the twisties. The weather couldn't have been any better, perfect for driving; not too hot, not too cold and the skies were perfectly clear.

4/20 Cruise eFlier

As the cars started to fill the parking lot, the anticipation began to rise. Given that before this morning, only a couple of us had driven together, the mystery of the unknown was certainly fueling the anxiety. There weren't a lot of questions being asked but the facial expressions of drivers spoke volumes: where we drivin'? will I be able to keep up? who's going to push the hardest? were just some of the questions certainly racing through the drivers' heads.

We got off to an early start at the shop and headed up towards Julian for breakfast.

This was probably my favorite shot of the day... there's just something about the blue and the green that, well, looks like it should be a VW ad.

We had a good crew out for the drive... all dubs 'n Audis with a token BMW

This was an awesome turnout/vantage point we stopped at a little over half way through the drive. The view looking east over the mountains and desert was incredible!

Miles and miles of this stuff...

As you can see, we all had a really good time! and when all was said and done, everyone made it back safe, with no casualties and no tickets... so it was a really good day and we can't wait to enjoy our local canyons some more!

This past weekend, the Exalt crew headed out to the Glamis Invasion hosted by SRH. After lots of long hours at the shop, it sure was nice to get out of town and enjoy the desert for a weekend. Despite a few trailer issues and a couple battle wounds, everyone had a great time and most importantly, made it home safe.

The camera went along for the ride but sand is its enemy, so it didn't make it out much...

Exalt hosted their first Sunday BBQ and despite predictions of freezing weather and thunderstorms... well, freezing for San Diego at least... it ended up being a perfect day to get together and admire the fine lines of fellow enthusiasts' rides. There was a real nice turnout, lining all sections of the available parking lot.

We decided to get some baseline dyno runs in before we installed the Banks Big Hoss kit, so we headed over to The Dyno Shop to get 'er done.

We made a new friend... a very expensive new friend. This is an extremely rare Porsche... 1 of 16 ever made, I think - it travels the world racing the most prestigious classic car events.

DK, JK and buddy, Joel headed up to Mtn High to get some fresh pow and test the newly lifted Dodge on a road trip. Needless to say, everything worked out perfectly... The Dodge handled like a champ and was especially impressive in 4wheel high, reminding us of our Audi Quattros. The conditions were also really nice with a light snow throughout the day, keeping the mountain nice and soft. We're definitely going to have to do this again soon!
